Green Man Forum and Folklore      Thursday Jun 20 2013

I am delighted to announce the strong and positive support of the following Patrons for our Forum who are well known to many of us as acknowledged Green Man experts.

Professor Carl Chinn MBE, PhD, FRSA, FBirmSoc. He is well known throughout the Midlands as professor of Community History and a regular contributor to BBC Radio and TV. His 21 books on local history are acclaimed and he gives huge support to many local history societies.

Mike Harding - aka the "Rochdale Cowboy" - a nationally known and loved singer, foklorist and comedian on radio, TV and many folk clubs thoughout the UK and abroad. His many books on the Green Man, Grotesques, Stained Glass and his authoritive website are a rich source on knowledge and scholarship.

Bridgette Hatter of Tewkesbury Abbey - a great friend and supporter of the Green Man and an ally in creating the Green Man Trail concept. She is the Manager of the Tewksbury Abbey shop where many GMs can be bought. Bridgette has a passion for the "green" life - since she was born 'n' bred in the Forest of Dean and has the right to be a Free Forester under ancient Verderer's Law. Her passions include Friends of the Earth, Conservation, Recycling and love and care for our Planet.

Clive Hicks - the author of many books and articles with Clive Anderson. His definitive Green Man Directory provides an excellent and unique source for the location and background for both UK and worldwide Green Men. His skills as a photographer, lecturer, architect and author are exceptional and widely acclaimed.

John Matthews - John is an expert folklore historian and author. With Caitlin Matthews he has written widely about their Search for the Green Man and has recently published King Arthur's Raid on the Underworld - with skilled evocative illustrations by Meg Falconer.

I have included a biopic about myself as a separate section.

The Patrons will collectively provide support advice and help to anyone wanting more information so please send your issues to enquiries@bluemanforum.co.uk . I have plans underway to create a skype / tele / cyber conference or a conventional conference / seminar concerning The Green Man at a suitable, central and prestigious venue.
